Minister of Public Health visits Ko Samui



On June 26, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health , Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, visited the Central Festival Ko Samui shopping center, one of the 4 locations providing vaccination services for COVID-19.


Currently, more than 57,000 people have received at least one doe of vaccination, of which 50,000 have received two doses of vaccine, which is 46 percent of the area's population. It is planned to vaccinate up to 30,000 more residents by July to reach the target of 70 percent to prepare to open for foreign tourists on July 15.


The deputy Prime Minister said that the pilot areas of Ko Samui and Phuket are ready to accept foreign tourists.


The Tourism Authority proposes to open tourism by offering direct international flights, no need to go through Bangkok.
