Bangkok Airways' Passenger Weighing Survey 2023

In a recent announcement, Bangkok Airways has introduced a new policy aimed at enhancing flight safety and efficiency. In alignment with international civil aviation standards, the airline has emphasized the importance of accurate weight and balance calculations for every flight. To achieve this, Bangkok Airways will be conducting a standard weights survey from September 15 to October 31, 2023, by weighing passengers, including their carry-on baggage, at the boarding gate. This proactive measure ensures that the actual weight of passengers and their belongings remains within the maximum take-off weight limits, a crucial aspect of aviation safety. The airline has assured passengers that all collected information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and will serve to update standard passenger and baggage weights for more precise flight planning. Bangkok Airways values and appreciates the cooperation of its passengers in ensuring the safety and efficiency of their flights.

"In compliance with the international civil aviation standard regarding the use of standard passenger and baggage weights for weight & balance calculation purposes, the conducting of a standard weights survey is essential to the safety and efficiency of a flight in determining that the actual weight does not exceed the maximum take-off weight limitation. From 15 September to 31 October 2023, we would like to collect the information by weighing passenger including carry-on baggage at the boarding gate.

Therefore, we assure that the information will be kept confidential and will be used to update standard passenger and baggage weights information.

We highly value and appreciate your cooperation.

Thank you for your cooperation."
