On Sunday 27 Nov, a cruise ship with 636 tourists on board visited Ko Samui island. The M.V. Viking Mars was the first cruise ship from Europe to visit Ko Samui in three years.
The majority of the 636 visitors on board were Australian and American citizens, and there were 470 crew members. The initial set of visitors purchased tickets for one-day excursions to well-known tourist destinations such as the temples at Wat Phra Yai and Wat Laem Suwant toram as well as seafood eateries on the resort island.
Some of the travelers continued on to Ang Thong National Marine Park and Ko Phangan island. Others went to eateries and gift shops close to Na Thon pier.
